Master’s degree program “Law”
For those who want to rise to a new level, build their own unique specialization, find themselves in the legal profession and make a fast-paced career.
Simple problems are always easy to solve, you don’t need to become a master. To solve complex problems, it is not enough to study the legislation. You need to build a broad outlook and acquire the skills of legal argumentation.
We adhere to the concept of free creative learning with the student at the center. Such conditions make it possible to rise to a new theoretical level and acquire effective skills in applying the law and defending the legal position. Therefore, during the 2 years of study, there will be only 4 compulsory courses. The rest of the courses are chosen by the students at their own discretion from among about 70 law-related courses and more than three thousand courses , taught at other faculties of the University.
In this way, an opportunity is created to form one’s unique specialization and find oneself in the legal profession. At the same time, the program offers an opportunity to study a particular area of legal science and practice in depth.
For this purpose, the faculty has created 7 certificate programs, which are actually quasi-specialization programs.
Most of these programs are implemented in cooperation with leading international and domestic law firms, whose partners teach guest courses.
Certificate programs awarded a separate diploma.
Master’s students have wide opportunities to study abroad under international mobility programs and under the joint master’s program of double degree with Vilnius University.
The vast majority of students combine their studies with work in their specialty. Each student can independently find a place of practice and/or internship and do it in the field that interests him or her most.
Drafting term papers and master’s (qualification) theses gives you the opportunity to acquire the skills of legal analysis and writing, which are vital for successful work in the legal field. The papers can be done in English. The topics of the papers are agreed upon individually to explore the problems that students face in practice.
The quality of education is ensured, among other things, by a system of anonymous student questioning, before each exam session.
