Law Clinic

The Law Clinic is a consultation center where students provide free primary legal aid in the following areas under the supervision of academic advisors:

  • protection of constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens and organizations;
  • civil, housing, family, labor and social security law;
  • legal regulation of business and investment activities;
  • protection of the rights of youth and juveniles, etc.

The Law Clinic organizes conferences, seminars, and trainings on clinical education, and carries out legal awareness activities.

In its work with clients, the Law Clinic adheres to the principles of confidentiality and ethics. Consultations to clients are provided by students in writing under the supervision of experienced practitioners and instructors.

The course Legal Practicum is taught in the Law Clinic in the summer of the 3rd year, in the fall and spring of the 4th year (6 credits) at the Department of General Theory of Law and Public Law.

This practical course allows students to acquire the skills of working with clients in civil, family, and housing issues and resolve them.

The Law Clinic cooperates with state authorities, local self-government authorities and non-governmental organizations. For example, we have long-term cooperation with the Association of Legal Clinics of Ukraine, the International Charitable Foundation for the Revival of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, the OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine, the International Renaissance Foundation, the American Bar Association, the Ukrainian Legal Aid Foundation, the NGO “Legal Hundred” (“Юридична сотня”), the Charitable Organization “Vifania Social Service” (“Соціальна служба “Віфанія”), etc.
