Philosophy of Law

The course aims to form future lawyers’ modern legal outlook and style of thinking, based on the understanding of law not only as an instrument of state policy, but also as a spiritual phenomenon that is based on the system of European and universal values developed over the centuries and affirms these values. Course objectives: to overcome or at least mitigate the deficiencies of legal education narrow focus, to promote its fundamentalization; to equip students with the methodology of law cognition in the context of rapid growth of information and constant complication of legislation; to develop students’ skills of modern legal thinking that would allow them to systematize their knowledge of specialized legal courses and correctly navigate in the search for law; to demonstrate the practical significance of the achievements of philosophical and legal thought and the possibility of their use in future professional legal practice.
