Organization of the Bar and Advocacy

The education of a qualified legal professional is impossible without acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge of the activities of the Bar as an independent institution of human rights protection. The purpose of the course is to provide students with the necessary legal knowledge about the history of the Bar, its role and peculiarities of its functioning in the modern world, and to compare the organization of the Ukrainian Bar with the best international practices. As a result of studying the course, students should familiarize themselves with the origin and historical path of the world and national Bar; the place and role of the Bar in civil society; legal and organizational principles of the Bar and its functioning; the best international models of the organization of attorneys’ practice; guarantees of independence of attorneys in the exercise of their powers; the main problematic issues of the Bar in Ukraine and in the world.
