International Protection of Gender and Children’s Rights

The course covers the issues of international legal regulation of the rights of women and children, as well as mechanisms for their protection, and the practice of international courts. The course covers the rights of children provided for in international legal documents, as well as the works of scholars on the interpretation of these rights, protection instruments and international institutions working in the field of protection of children’s rights. Separately, the rights of women under international law are considered, with an accent on the issues that are more frequently emphasized by the international community, such as trafficking of women and violence against women. The focus is also on the principle of non-discrimination in international law as a fundamental principle. Both international and regional European legislation are compared.
