Introduction to Intellectual Property Law

The course “Introduction to Intellectual Property Law” is designed to provide students with an understanding of the content, system, sources, and key aspects of intellectual property law. Upon completion of the course, students will gain comprehensive knowledge regarding the objects of intellectual property law, the criteria for granting them legal protection, the holders of intellectual property rights, potential infringements, and means of protecting the intellectual property rights.
Students will participate in academic discussions on important issues in the field, including theories justifying protection of intellectual property, potential copyright infringements during the development, training, and use of artificial intelligence systems, etc.
Once students have mastered the legal provisions and theoretical approaches in the field of intellectual property law, they will analyze relevant practical tasks.
The course objective is to provide students with a foundation in intellectual property law, develop an understanding of legal issues arising in the field of intellectual property, and foster the ability to apply this knowledge in practical settings. Studying this course will contribute to the development of a legal culture of respect for intellectual property.
