Preparation of the textbook “General Theory of Law” (with the support of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine)

The experts of the Center, headed by M. Kozyubra, with the support of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine, prepared a new textbook “General Theory of Law”.

This textbook contains qualitatively different approaches to understanding law, its meaning, role and place in the system of social regulators, based on the OSCE legal education standard. At the core of this standard is the goal of matching the professional knowledge and skills of graduates of Ukrainian higher legal education institutions with the needs of the legal profession.

An important characteristic of this educational textbook is that, in addition to the standard components of legal theory that are traditionally presented in textbooks on this course, special attention is paid to the rule of law and a detailed description of its components..

This textbook is one of a number of publications of the OSCE in Ukraine on fundamental legal disciplines that form the basis, the core of professional formation of Ukrainian lawyers. Ms. N. Bernatska, National Project Manager of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine, expressed her hope that the textbook would be interesting and useful for both professors in general legal theory and the legal community of Ukraine. The practice of using the textbook, at least in the educational process, has already received a significant number of positive comments from both professors and students.
