What should modern legal education look like in order to meet European standards?

Why does the quality of legal education today go far beyond an academic discussion and directly affect the effectiveness of justice systems and public trust in institutions?

These issues are discussed in an interview for NV by national experts of the EU Project Pravo-Justice: Svitlana Khilyuk, Dean of the UCU Law School, and Andrii Boiko, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Professor at the Department of Criminal and Criminal Procedural Law at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.

Professor Andrii Boiko has been engaged in legal policy and the development of legal education for many years. Today he actively contributes to international expert projects and professional working groups, including as an expert for the OSCE and the EU Project Pravo-Justice, representing the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy Faculty of Law in professional discussions and initiatives focused on reforming legal education.

The Kyiv-Mohyla Academy Faculty of Law is actively involved in shaping the future of legal education in Ukraine and advancing its alignment with European standards. Through academic leadership, expert engagement, and international cooperation, the Faculty contributes to developing a modern model of legal education aimed at preparing responsible, highly competent legal professionals.
