Lecture on Russia’s war against Ukraine at Yale University

Currently, a delegation of the Mogilev School of Law is visiting Yale University (USA) and is negotiating cooperation with the university.

On 30 January, Maksym Vishchyk, a lecturer at the Department of International and European Law, gave a lecture as part of the course “Russian-Ukrainian war” on the international legal challenges of Russian aggression against Ukraine.

The discussion focused on the inadmissibility of territorial concessions by Ukraine from the point of view of international law, the colonial nature of the Russian war against Ukraine, the possible consequences of the indecision of international partners regarding further support for Ukraine, as well as the crimes of the Russian Federation against Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians that may indicate signs of genocide.

The lecture and discussion were also attended by a delegation from the School of Economics. In his speech, Dean Volodymyr Wenger expressed his gratitude for the consistent coverage of the Russian war against Ukraine by Yale professors, and highlighted the unique history of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in the light of Russian colonial policies.
