Language of Law

The main purpose of the course “Language of Law” is to provide a comprehensive scientific understanding of the language of law as an independent functional and stylistic form of the modern Ukrainian literary language and to develop practical skills in working with legal texts of various styles and genres (compilation, linguistic and terminological analysis, translation, editing, independent and qualified resolution of difficulties in word use). Stylistic norms and linguistic means (lexical, morphological, syntactic) are studied on the basis of texts of Ukrainian and international legislation, business documentation, professionally oriented scientific and journalistic works.
