Joining Forces with German Scientists to Develop the Post-War Economy and Ensure the Right to Work

As part of the joint Ukrainian-German cooperation project titled «Just Transition: Work after the War. Fair Labour Standards for the Ukrainian (Post-)War Economy», scholars from the Department of Private Law — Assoc. Prof Ivan Yatskevych, the project leader, along with as Assoc. Prof. Roksolana Khanyk-Pospolitak and Assoc. Prof. Tetiana Fedosieieva — visited the Center for Interdisciplinary Labor Law Studies at the Chair for Civil Law, European and German Labour Law of the Europa-Universität Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder).

The project leader from the German side, Prof. Dr. Eva Kocher, organized a series of thematic discussions with participation from Prof. Dr. Dagmara Jajeśniak-Quast, Director of the Viadrina Center of Polish and Ukrainian Studies (VCPU) , Dr. Susann Worschech, Scientific Coordinator of the KIU Competence Network Interdisciplinary Ukrainian Studies, and other German colleagues.

The exchange of ideas and rigorous discussions helped define the next steps toward achieving the project’s main goals and strengthening collaboration.

The visit took place within the framework of the research project funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, under the international scientific and technological bilateral cooperation in accordance with the Protocol of the Fourteenth Meeting of the German-Ukrainian Working Group on Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung of 09.11.2023 and its annex dated 01.02.2024.
