Право глобальної енергетики (англ.мовою)

This one-semester course is designed to explain how energy is regulated at the global level. In particular, it seeks to clarify which aspects of energy-related activities are subject to international regulation, how this regulation varies in intensity (ranging from global to localised legal regimes) and how it spreads across borders.

The special focus of the course is the energy regulation in the European Union (EU), which provides a good example of a structured wholesome effort responsive to current industry challenges. The functioning of network energy markets (electricity and gas) will be scrutinised as they face specific challenges in terms of competition due to the dependence on the fixed infrastructure. The course will also address key principles and rules building up to the Internal Energy Market as well as main policies to achieve decarbonisation of these markets (energy efficiency, promotion of renewables and renewable/low-carbon infrastructures).
