What began as an opportunity to practise legal English has grown into an international learning community, connecting students of the Faculty of Law at National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy with legal professionals and academics across the world.
This semester, the project brings together participants and volunteer tutors across 22 cities worldwide, from Los Angeles and Houston to London, Brussels, Singapore and Melbourne.
The pilot programmes of the 2023–2024, 2024–2025 and 2025–2026 academic years have shown that the workshop is about much more than improving legal writing. It is also about exchanging perspectives across jurisdictions, building professional relationships and learning from one another.
We are delighted to continue our collaboration with volunteer tutors from White & Case LLP, whose international presence brings an impressive geographical diversity to this year’s programme.
We are equally grateful to our longstanding academic partners: Columbia University, Georgetown University and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Special thanks to Christopher Kelley, Amanda Sen Villalobos, Patrick Keenan, Stephen Horowitz, Taisa Markus and Nataliia Maksymchuk for their involvement and continued support.
Seven semesters in, the workshop continues to demonstrate how meaningful international connections can grow through shared learning, professional generosity and a commitment to legal education.
We look forward to another semester of learning, collaboration and new connections!
