NaUKMA launches faculty teaching visits at Viadrina European University

The Campus is a joint educational project of National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and Europa-Universität Viadrina (Frankfurt (Oder), Germany), established for Ukrainian students temporarily residing in Europe. It enables students to pursue a bachelor’s degree in law at NaUKMA through in-person learning while benefiting from the academic resources and infrastructure of the German partner university.

Last week, English language lecturer Anna Kurashyna conducted a five-day intensive Legal English course for students at the Campus.

The programme included specialised legal terminology, discussions of legal topics, group projects, video-based activities, a conversation club, and role-playing exercises. This approach allowed students not only to improve their English language skills but also to practise using English in professional legal communication.

During her visit, Anna Kurashyna also attended a lecture by Viadrina Professor Cornelia Müller on research into gestural communication in the media. The two academics exchanged research materials.

Teaching visits by NaUKMA faculty members are an integral part of the Campus’s educational model, which involves intensive in-person teaching sessions throughout the semester. Students can also attend selected courses at Viadrina, with the possibility of having their learning outcomes recognised as part of their NaUKMA degree programme.

Administrative support for the Campus in Frankfurt (Oder) is provided by Viktoriia Kobernyk, Academic Mobility Programme Coordinator at NaUKMA.

The partnership between the two universities also encompasses joint educational and research projects, academic conferences, and faculty exchanges.
