Online Summer School “Law in Germany” 2026 begins

The “Law in Germany” Summer School has been organised annually by the Faculty of Law at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA) since 2007, in cooperation with Heidelberg University, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, and Jagiellonian University, with the support and funding of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The Summer School was opened by its coordinator, Ivan Yatskevych, Head of the Department of Private Law at the NaUKMA Faculty of Law, who welcomed the participants.

Daria Bohatchuk, Lecturer at the Department of General Theoretical Jurisprudence and Public Law, also delivered opening remarks.

Professor Olena Shabliy welcomed the participants and introduced the first week’s programme. Under her guidance, students will develop a solid linguistic foundation for mastering German legal terminology and improving their proficiency in German, the Summer School’s working language.

Following the intensive German language course for legal professionals, the programme will continue with two weeks of lectures on German law, delivered by experienced academics and practising lawyers specialising in German law.

We wish all participants a productive learning experience, valuable new knowledge, engaging discussions, and continued professional development!
