NaUKMA Faculty of Law and Truth Hounds Join Global Transitional Justice Discussion Project

Truth Hounds, together with the Department of International and European Law at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, will join the Global Transitional Justice discussion project!

Together with Ukrainian and international lawyers, experts, and human rights defenders – including representatives of Truth Hounds, the Faculty of Law at NaUKMA, and colleagues from the Global Majority – in the series of webinars we will:

▪️ explore global experiences of transitional justice;
▪️ expand and deepen dialogue with the expert community from Global Majority countries;
▪️ study their experiences, and share Ukraine’s own.

In recent years, members of Truth Hounds have conducted a number of advocacy visits to countries in Asia, Africa, and South America. Despite the vast distances, Ukraine often shares common problems and challenges with those in these regions, particularly regarding:

▪️ accountability for violations of human rights and international humanitarian law;
▪️ addressing the consequences of armed conflicts, including the restoration of justice, the right to truth, and securing appropriate reparations for victims;
▪️ and, more broadly, the struggle for democracy, the impact of profound social transformations, and the crisis of the international justice system.

This project will strengthen Ukraine’s dialogue with countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America on international law, justice, and human rights – a dialogue that has become particularly active since the full-scale invasion.
