Ivan Yatskevych presents NaUKMA Faculty of Law research at European Labour Law Congress
Collective bargaining and social dialogue in times of crisis. What can we learn from the European experience, and what is happening in Ukraine? These questions were the focus of a presentation by Іван Яцкевич, Head of the Department of Private Law at the Kyiv-Mohyla Faculty of Law.
At the invitation of the organising committee, he spoke at the XV European Congress of the International Society for Labour and Social Security Law (ISLSSL). The Congress took place from 16 to 19 September 2026 at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana in Slovenia. Its theme was “Social Europe under Strain – Contemporary Challenges of National and European Labour and Social Security Laws”.
Ivan Yatskevych’s presentation, “Collective Bargaining and Social Dialogue in Times of Crisis: European Experience and the Situation in Ukraine”, is connected to the research project he leads: “Just Transition: The Right to Work after the War. Decent Work and Ukraine’s Post-War Economy”.
Ivan was joined on the panel “Collective Labour Law under the Legal Regime of Martial Law” by:
– Professor Eva Kocher, Europa-Universität Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) (Germany);
– Professor Yana Simutina, Leading Research Fellow in the Department of Civil Law Studies at the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law;
– Associate Professor Alla Fedorova, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Palacký University Olomouc (Czech Republic), and the European Committee of Social Rights of the Council of Europe.
Discussions like this offer an opportunity to share Ukraine’s experience in labour law with European colleagues and to consider together the questions raised by the war and post-war recovery.
