Energy law

The course focuses on studying the fundamentals of Ukrainian energy law through the prism of EU energy law. It will help students understand the following issues:

– what energy is, how it is affected by public authorities, and what energy law regulates;

– what constitutes Ukrainian energy law, how it relates to EU energy law and energy policy, what EU energy law and Energy Community energy law are;

– who are the main players in energy markets, what are their objectives and economic motivations, their main responsibilities, and their relationships with other players in these markets.

The course is practical in nature and introduces students to the issues faced by practicing lawyers, legal advisors, officials, and parliamentarians in the creation and application of law in the context of energy markets.
