Criminal law. General part

The two main questions in the context of criminal law are: what acts constitute criminal offenses and what legal consequences should follow if they are committed? The course will definitely cover a much wider range of issues, because ultimately it is necessary to determine what functions criminal law should perform and how these functions should be implemented.

The basic goal of studying this course is to acquire the skills to correctly apply criminal law norms and convincingly argue one’s legal position. To do this, it is not enough to know the text of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which changes frequently. In order to acquire these skills, it is necessary to understand the principles on which criminal law is founded, how these principles should be applied in practice, and how they influence or should influence the development of criminal legislation and the practice of its application.
