Courts and law enforcement bodies of foreign countries
The academic course “Courts and law enforcement bodies of foreign countries” is an elective course aimed at obtaining academic knowledge about the basic principles of the organization and activities of courts and law enforcement bodies of foreign countries. The course contains information about the system, major tasks, powers, organization, and activities of the judicial systems of foreign countries and bodies that perform law enforcement functions. Studying this academic discipline creates conditions for the formation of academic understanding of the creation and functioning of courts and law enforcement bodies in a number of countries with Anglo-American and Romano-Germanic legal systems. The program of the elective course “Courts and law enforcement bodies of foreign countries” is designed in accordance with the educational program for first-level of higher education. This course provides students with the opportunity to study:
– the activities of courts and law enforcement bodies in countries with Anglo-American legal systems (England, Northern Ireland, the United States, Canada);
– the activities of the courts and law enforcement bodies in countries with a Romano-Germanic legal system (France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic);
– information on international cooperation between these bodies.
