Legal argumentation

The course “Legal argumentation” is aimed at developing students’ theoretical understanding and practical skills in legal argumentation of the legal positions of participants in legal discourse. The course contains a body of knowledge about the structure, types, and process of argumentation as a procedure based on both logical and illogical methods of proof and persuasion, their rational and irrational components. The theory of legal argumentation combines knowledge of formal-logical theories of general theoretical significance with the substantive tasks of legal theory and legal practice.
