Summer School “Law in Germany” Concludes at NaUKMA Faculty of Law

During three intensive weeks, participants deepened their knowledge of German private and public law and improved their professional legal German language proficiency.

The final week of the programme was dedicated to German public law. Through lectures by Dr. Claudia Hainthaler and Dr. Robert Pracht (Universität Heidelberg), the participants learned about the fundamentals of German constitutional law, particularly the highest federal authorities, the foundations of the state organisation, the principles of separation of powers, deepened their understanding of the Rechtsstaat principle (the rule of law in Germany), analysed in depth the fundamental rights and freedoms enshrined in the Constitution of Germany and other legislation, such as the right to respect for dignity, the right to life and physical integrity, freedom of expression, freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, the freedom to choose an occupation, the right to property, as well as many more. The participants also improved their understanding of the meaning, functions and methods of interpretation of human rights and freedoms.

The programme concluded with an oral examination, during which the participants demonstrated their high level of knowledge and engagement.

Since 2007, the Summer School “Law in Germany” has been held at the Faculty of Law in cooperation with leading European universities, particularly Heidelberg University, with the support of the DAAD Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (German Academic Exchange Service).

We sincerely thank the lecturers, our partners and, above all, the participants for their inspiration, professional commitment and active involvement!
