Viktoriia Khalanchuk
Senior lecturer at International and European Law Department
NaUKMA alumna: BD and MA in Political Science, completed a certificate programme «International Human Rights Protection».
Oxford’s University Diplomatic Studies Programme alumna (2023, Merit). Her Oxford’s dissertation applies doctrinal analysis to identification of the crime of aggression under customary international law.
Has wide-ranging interests in international law, political science and diplomacy. As a practitioner, she has experience in various issues of Ukraine’s domestic and foreign policy gained through her work at a think tank, Ukraine’s parliament, civil service and in international organisations. Her thematic priorities included legal and political aspects of the issue of national minorities in inter-state relations, Russian domestic and occupation policies, foreign policies of Central Asian states as well as Ukraine’s global dialogue.
Current academic interests include the issue of war in international politics and international law as well as socio-legal studies in general.
Has experience in teaching EU policy-making.
Teaches History of International Law and Lawfare and Malign Legal Operations in International Relations. Designed a course titled «Law Not War»: Insights from International Politics and Public International Law.
