French for Lawyers – A Unique Opportunity for Our Students!
At the Faculty of Law, we are proud to offer our students an elective course that has become an iconic part of our program. “French for Lawyers” is not just a language class but a true journey into the world of French language and legal culture.
This course has been taught by Theo Pauthonier, a native French speaker, since 2020. Thanks to his enthusiasm and creativity, Theo has transformed this course into a shining example of how deep knowledge can be combined with inspiration. Teaching online over the past few years, he has conducted lessons from six different countries, showcasing incredible flexibility and dedication. For Theo, interaction during seminars is the most rewarding part of teaching, as exchanging ideas with students is always enriching. He was especially thrilled that this year’s class was highly engaged in discussions.
Each year, the course receives enthusiastic feedback from students:
“The visiting lecturer is a native speaker of French language and culture. He delivers fascinating lectures and engages with students. The classes were interactive and incredibly comfortable.”
“The seminars were amazing, as were the lectures with detailed explanations of the material. I can’t even think of anything to add. This is a fantastic elective course. I’d gladly take another semester.”
“An incredible course taught by an incredible and unparalleled lecturer. 100/100!!!!!”
Theo Pauthonier shares that teaching this course is not just a job but also a way to stay connected with Ukraine during these challenging times, as traveling to Kyiv has become significantly more difficult. Like us, he can’t wait for the day he can finally teach at least part of the course in person and hopes it will happen this year.
The “French for Lawyers” course is not only a chance for our students to improve their French but also an opportunity to gain important skills for their future careers.
