Faculty at the International Spring Academy “Sustainable Transport and Trade” 2026

Last week, Nataliia Kozachuk, Associate Professor at the Department of International and European Law, Faculty of Law of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA), moderated a session at the 3rd International Spring Academy “Sustainable Transport and Trade” (ISA Online 2026).

The Academy is organized within the EasTnT project — “Strengthening Sustainable and Digital Trade Routes and Logistics Concepts between Eastern Partnership Countries and with the EU”, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ.

The International Spring Academy serves as a platform for academic exchange, professional dialogue, and cross-border cooperation among Eastern Partnership countries — Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine — alongside European partners. The initiative brings together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers working in the fields of transport, logistics, trade, and digitalization.

This year’s edition focused on strengthening cooperation between academia and practice, promoting sustainable solutions in transport and logistics, and supporting long-term academic partnerships and joint research initiatives.

On the second day of the Academy, discussions focused on sustainable transport systems and their role in economic development and regional integration.

The session featured presentations on:

  • sustainable mobility and decarbonization strategies
  • the role of retail trade in supporting livelihoods
  • impact assessment of road transport projects
  • optimization models in supply chains
  • digital logistics and regional integration opportunities

The day concluded with a discussion titled “Priorities for Sustainable Transport in Teaching”, moderated by Nataliia Kozachuk. The discussion addressed how sustainability-related topics can be integrated into academic curricula and how universities can better respond to the evolving needs of the transport and logistics sectors.

Participation in such initiatives reflects NaUKMA’s continued engagement in international academic dialogue and its contribution to interdisciplinary discussions at the intersection of law, transport, and sustainable development.
