Expanding International Academic Cooperation with the University of Tartu School of Law (Estonia)

This collaboration gives our students unique opportunities for international academic experience.
As part of the elective course European Labour Law for master’s students, we hosted a guest lecture by Professor of Private Law at the University of Tartu, Doctor of Laws Gaabriel Tavits.
The lecture focused on cross-border work under EU law — a topic that is becoming increasingly relevant in today’s labour market.
Professor Tavits is a renowned scholar and practitioner in EU labour and social law, author of numerous publications, and a regular speaker at major international conferences.
ORCID profile
His insights allowed students to see how European legal norms operate in practice, particularly in the Estonian context.
Importantly, this lecture was part of the regular exchange between Ivan Yatskevych, Head of the Department of Private Law at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, and Professor Tavits. Such initiatives not only strengthen horizontal academic ties between faculty members but also create additional opportunities for NaUKMA students to engage in international legal discourse.
