Synenky-Traversa Fellowship Grant

The Synenky-Traversa Fund, established by Halyna Synenky-Traversa, provides an annual fellowship grant aimed at supporting research contributing to the development of civil society and the strengthening of democracy in Ukraine. The grant was founded in 2021.

Full-time faculty members of the Faculty of Law who are working on topics promoting the development of civil society and the strengthening of democracy in Ukraine are eligible to apply for the fellowship.

The size of the fellowship will be determined by the dividends received from the endowment created at the Kyiv-Mohyla Foundation of America by Halyna Traversa in honor of her parents, Volodymyr and Liudmyla Synenky.

Halyna Traversa is a retired attorney and former general counsel of Rexam Beverage Can Americas. Prior to assuming that position, she was senior international counsel at both Abbott Laboratories and Motorola, during which time she worked on international business transactions, including cross-border joint ventures, in countries including Ukraine.
