Introduction to German Law (in English)

This is a one semester bachelor program course which will provide an introduction of the main principles of German Law. The course will provide an introduction into private and public law. It is not expected that the students have a good knowledge of the German language or German legal terminologies. However, the German Law Institute also introduces possible legal German language courses for every student. The first part of the course introduces several aspects of German history and the influence of German law on an international level. The course further introduces the judiciary structure of German courts. The second part of the course introduces main legal principles of private and public law, as well as the basics of German contract law, German human rights and German administrative law. At the end, the course will also reflect on legal educational aspects and possibilities of Ukrainian students to study law in Germany.
