On 24 April 2025, the Institute of European and Comparative Law at the University of Oxford will host the event:
\n“Elections and Media: Newest Challenges, Threats, and Response”.<\/p>\n
Dr. Volodymyr Venher, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, will deliver the opening address, give a presentation, and moderate one of the panels. Kyiv-Mohyla Academy will also be represented by Dr. Yurii Kliuchkovskyi, Associate Professor at the Department of General Theory of Law and Public Law.<\/p>\n
Dr. Leah Trueblood, Fellow and Tutor in Public Law at Worcester College, will also serve as a moderator during the panel discussions.<\/p>\n
The event will explore:
\n\u2013 The growing impact of disinformation and propaganda on elections;
\n\u2013 The role of media in shaping public trust during campaigns;
\n\u2013 Threats to electoral integrity and strategies to build resilience.<\/p>\n
Two key sessions will address:
\n– Media environment and current challenges in election campaigns.
\n– Building trust by countering disinformation, hate speech, and manipulation.<\/p>\n
